Get healthy&fit for summer 2018!-5 tips to achieve your summer body.

Well hello there beautiful human beings reading this and welcome back!
So,as we all know,after all them holidays full of good food and enjoynment,here comes summer with its hot days,pools,beaches aaand we look in the mirror and say: ,,I'm not ready for summer,I have to go work out hard to get my summer bod asap!".More over,when we go on social media,we see pictures with models at the beach rocking their swimsuit and them abs,healthy food pics and gym pics and that tends to get in our heads and make us want to look like that,eat like that and workout like that.
Sooooo,here I am,writing a blog post that might help you,giving you tips that worked for me and talking about this complex subject from a 17 yr old perspective.

Tip no. 1-Drink lots of water

Ok,so this is the first and most important step! Water is your best friend-drinking lots of it not only will clear your skin and make it glowy,but will also help with digestion,weight loss and help eliminate toxins from your body.
If plain water doesn't make you want to drink it,try infusing your water-there are so many possibilities: add strawberries,lemon and mint(lemon,mint and cucumber for detox),blueberries,anything your heart desires!

If you start drinking a ton of water you will see a lot of improvements in your body and skin in a short time sooo go ahead!
Tip no. 2- Eat more clean

First of all,you don't have to be vegan to eat more clean,I will not promote only veganism here because,even though I am against killing animals for food and so on,I can not tell you that you must be vegan to be healthy or other kinds of shez.Everyone has their own life and decides what goes in their body.
Buuut,you must know that from crisps,pizza,ice cream,soft pretzels and drinks with a ton of sugar in them you can not have that insta model body you dream of.More over,not only you won't look how you would like,but your health will be affected as well.
So,even though all this ''clean eating" thing is more complex than we think(if you want a more in depth convo,let me know and I'll do a separate blog post talking about only clean eating),I can give you some easy peasy tips to help with your process.
Don't think that it will be so hard and complicated and you'll have to stop eating chocolate or other junk food that you like,it's really not like that.
1.Try to swap your fave junk foods with healthy alternatives.
*The most important: cut down sugar-alternative:honey/maple or agave syrup
*Swap candy with fruit(cmon,you are not 9 yr old anymore,fruits are soo good for you,they are sweet,so you can satisfy your sweet cravings)-seasonal fruits are even better!
*Swap regular milk chocolate with dark chocolate(a piece of dark chocolate-starting from 70%- everyday,it's even scientifically demonstrated to be healthy for you!)
*Start making your own treats at home(ex: nice cream(healthy ice cream-frozen bananas with what else you want in a blender),granola bars(oats with seeds,pieces of chocolate,goji berries,a bit of honey or maple syrup,throw in oven and you're good),smoothies,etc)
*START READING THE INGREDIENTS!(a lot of you are prob eating ''healthy'' granola bars and trail mixes from the market and wondering why you are not losing weight.Well,if you start read the ingredients,you will be surprised to see the insane amount of proccessed sugars and other crap that there are in the so called ''healthy treats"-think twice next time!)
*Swap regular crisps and chips with brown rice and chia seeds crisps(they are actually soo good,if you dip them in guac you'll be in heaven)
2.Avoid overly proccessed foods!
3.DON'T RESTRICT YOURSELF-you'll gain more weight and it won't help you with anything-sometimes,give yourself a little treat,indulge,live life!
4.Use the internet!
Search on Pinterest for recipes,easy make-at-home snacks and treats,follow food blogs and look on Instagram or WeHeartIt to get some foodspo! (or check out my food insta acc: @vegan_in_highschool)


Tip no.3- Get moving
Do fun activities so you don't feel like you are working out:
Go hiking
Go out on short walks
Go swimming

Take your friends and get moving,and you'll see how enjoyable working out really is! :))
Tip no. 4-Get a gym membership
Getting a gym membership is the best thing you can do if you are not really an active person because you pay for it at the beginning of the month and you are more motivated to go cause else you'll lose the money and who wants that?
Also,getting a gym buddy can help you as well.Take your bff and go get some abs! Ooor not.For example,when I got my gym membership I went all alone because all my friends were on vacay and it was a bit scary at the beginning,but after the first class,I loved it and it motivated me more to go(it was a great experience and I really enjoyed it).
Don't let other's plans to ruin your goals.If you want to do something for you,do it!Even if you are alone!
Or,simply hop on YouTube and do some at-home workouts!
Tip no. 5- Do it for you,not for others
Now,ignore everything I said before,THIS is the most important tip!
Don't start working out and eat only clean foods for the insta pics or for the people that told you you're fat.People can be very rude,the important thing is not to let them get in your head.You are perfect just the way God made you.
If you are skinny,people will tell you to eat,or that you don't have a butt or enough curves.They will tell you that you're sick or anorexic,but if you're curvy,they'll tell you to stop eating cause you're too fat,they'll make jokes,and so on.
So how should you look like?Like the staple we see on the internet?Tall,with a firm butt and all,abs and a tan?That is perfection? DEFINETLY NOT:yes,of course we all want to look good.If you want abs-work for it-if you want to be thinner-work for that-you want a butt?-you can work to achieve that-BUT,WORK FOR YOU,not for the pictures,not for the people's mouths.Work until you are proud and you'll look in the mirror and you'll love what you have achieved.Your body is YOUR temple,so do you boo!
